Engine break-in oil is a type of motor engine oil specifically designed and formulated for the initial break-in period of a rebuilt or new crate automotive engine. This break-in period is critical for the long-term performance and durability of the engine, as its primary purpose is to provide the necessary lubrication and protection during this initial phase while also allowing the engine components to properly seat and wear in. 

However, it should be noted that our break-in oils are not intended for long-term use. After the initial break-in period (typically a few hundred to a thousand miles), they should be replaced with regular motor oil that is appropriate for the engine's design and operating conditions.
